Stan Lee will correct everyone of you and make it clear. Blade was more serious than this and it came out in 1998. For marvel films now Marvel studios( New Line cinema produced.), set the precedent.

They do a film podcast, it's literally their job to see popular films (especially massive franchise sequels) doesn't matter if they "care" or not. This is a bit unprofessional.

Reshoots are fine, but the shooting the ending because your ending isn't original? Audiences are turned off by hack writing.

Dark Phoenix was actually pretty good. It was a totally “okay” movie. Not great, not bad. Critics are being way too hard

$250 million spent on Dark Phoenix?? Wow, they threw away that money. Sadly. It is all over the place, no character dept, not even Jean grey the supposed protagonist of the filmDont get what happened with this franchise. First class and Days of future past where good and strong movies

The X-Men legacy is a study of Hollywood trying to understand the potential of the superhero genre. What franchise has had more budget constraints as The X-Men? Hugh Jackman took a play cut to get Logan made, but 1st time director Simon Kinberg obtained a $200M budget? The X-Men is a 100+ character IP and Fox didn't have the foresight for its potential. They were sitting on an underutilized Kevin Fiege for goodness sake!

I can’t find the reviewer who said this truth, but props to him for saying it: even though the Phoenix Saga is hailed as one of the classic X-Men stories, Jean Grey is, in reality, the least interesting main X-Man, and was picked as the focus for this saga because of that reason. (I say this as a X-comics fan from childhood.)

Daisy Ridley was a complete unknown and John Boyega did Attack the Block and that's about it before Star Wars and they both kill it.

I seriously love these longer episodes, it almost makes up for Roth being on the show less 😘

X2 DVD has a great alternate scene of Wolverine jamming his claws in the soldier in the kitchen and it doesn't cut back to Bobby. They had to cut it because Jackman screaming in that dude's face was too intense and they would've had to fight rating.

Studios talk about upcoming movies, then they should just make the movie THEN tell us. Instead of telling us and it keeps getting pushed back because of re-shoots. That sucks

I really, really liked the whole discussion on The X-Men. I don't talk much about it because X-Men wasn't really my thing but I always did like the first X-Men movie but never mentioned it because it was never talked about and not in a good way around me.I'm just so happy to hear all this positive talk about the franchise and learn new things about the movies around the times of their releases

If only nolan didn’t made dark knight rise and made the third one for the setup of superman or justice league and nolan hold of the whole DCEU it would been epic and probably won over marvel!

Lord and Miller also made Smallfoot and Storks, also Legos 2 didn't do so well, who knows how Solo would have turned out.

The problem is appart from Logan all the Xmen movies have great scenes and a lot of forgettable or outright cringe stuff inbetween. Sure historically speaking they deserve credit, but I'm not sure that forgives it's missteps. The casting is still mostly phenomenal. But certainly since X3 they've been NOTICEABLY AT THE TIME crap (except Logan). First Class I enjoyed at the cinema... I rewatched it and went 'oh... this is kinda awful!' I only rewatched it a couple of years later. Ever since even days of future past, I've been sat in the cinema going... they really don't care about anything except their set pieces do they??And don't get me started on the characters they DID mangle (Rogue, Bobby, Kitty, Gambit, Emma, Beast in the reboot) or gave short shrift (Storm). It's a fascinating moment in cinema history and case study... but does it deserve to be honoured??? I don't know...

Have to disagree slightly about Hugh Jackman being a Huge stole of luck as casting. Hugh Jackman's Wolverine was the Best & Worst thing that happened to the Xmen movies. The first two outings were great because all the characters were respected. Wolverine was the focus because good story worked as such. But then the movies becam Wolverine With Guest Stars The X Men. They shit on Cyclops character slightly in X2 even though the movie was still great. If it had not been all about JackAss's Wolverine other Charcters would be shinning like all the Charcters on the Avengers Team. Cyclops,Storm, Night Crawler, the biggest one of all..bigger than Wolvie at the Box ff ice...Deadpool would have been Awesome a lot sooner. But no. They shit even shitted on Deadpool to make Wolvie the hero. Even Deadpool's use of Cyclop' blast were stopped Wolvies Claws. Pure fanboy crap
