Crew-1 Mission | Return

  • Published on: 02 May 2021
  • SpaceX and NASA are targeting Saturday, May 1 at 8:35 p.m. EDT, or 00:35 UTC on May 2, for Dragon to autonomously undock from the International Space Station (ISS) and splashdown off the coast of Florida on Sunday, May 2 at approximately 2:57 a.m. EDT, 6:57 UTC, completing its first six-month operational mission to the Station.

A series of departure burns will move Dragon away from the orbiting laboratory, followed by the vehicle jettisoning the trunk to reduce weight and mass to help save propellant for the deorbit burn. Once complete, Dragon will re-enter Earth’s atmosphere and deploy its two drogue and four main parachutes in preparation for a soft water landing.

Aboard the spacecraft will be NASA astronauts Mike Hopkins, Victor Glover, Shannon Walker, and JAXA astronaut Soichi Noguchi, who flew to the space station on Dragon six months ago when Falcon 9 launched the spacecraft from historic Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Sunday, November 15, 2020.

Upon splashdown, the Dragon and the astronauts will be quickly recovered and returned to Cape Canaveral and Houston respectively. Once the mission is complete, Dragon will be inspected and refurbished for future human spaceflight missions.

The only surefire way to master space flight is by attaching a delta wing to a rocket ,after detachment as the rockets goes past the atmosphere, the delta wing then flies back as a drone.

The capsule looks like it has just came out of a blazing fire. It's amazing how all of that heat emanates from air

Their first breath of fresh air... lol wouldn't go that far, the air on the ISS is likely fresher.

Editor's note: To protest his illegal detention, Mr. Zhou Xiangyang has been on a hunger strike and been force-fed for six years while serving time for his faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline also known as Falun Dafa that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999. It is reported that Mr. Zhou is experiencing multiple organ failure and has been taken to the prison hospital. Below is a letter submitted by a reader, also a Falun Gong practitioner, who was incarcerated with Mr. Zhou in Binghai Prison in Tianjin.

Wow be nice to give the Astronaut a few beers and maybe a pizza, while waiting? They could even watch a movie, I’m thinking space cowboys, or Aliens? 😂. No point looking out the window! Not like the greatest show of Earth 🌏 is happening? Ps I would be freaking out!

Why did first astronaut get out almost by himself and it seems that he didn't require any help, but second astronaut was extracted in horizontal position by others and it seems that he was almost motionless? Is everything alright with him?

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (James 4:4)And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: (Acts 17:30)

It seems to be less complicated to fly with Dragon than drive a Tesla with autopilot. The Astronauts are "entertained" not to fall asleep.

Will dragon fly on top of a SN 15 for a lunar lander... one lesson with the shuttle was lacking a way to get off the stack incase of lets say issues... And the fact landing something so tall... a abort on lunar landing would be a smart safety... if the stack has a hard landing... you have the option fire to orbit.. and hope you get get off before noise touchs arse ;) leave the core stage on the surface.... incorporate the legs higher up.... folded out.... you have a larger surface area for solar panels and radiators... as well as a Darkside to shield from the sun... leave it... add more in future missions... there is your lunar base. You would need a way to get dragon off the stack once on the surface... or could you fire off the stack without damaging it... or knocking it over.... should look as belly landing.... but you would need to have a sight cleared before hand.....

10 of the World's Funniest One Liners1.I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges. 2.Okay, who stopped the payment on my reality check?3.Diplomacy is the art of letting someone else get your way.4.We have enough youth. How about a fountain of "Smart"?5.Be nice to your kids. They'll choose your nursing home. 6.If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.7.Life is too complicated in the morning.8.Sometimes I wake up grumpy; other times I let her sleep.9.There are three kinds of people: Those who can count and those who can't. 10.Why is "abbreviation" such a long word? Editorial: Probably the most thought-provoking one-liner is "Eat right. Stay fit. Die anyway." It's sad but true -- no matter what you do, you will die. This is because you have sinned against God. Let's see if that's true: Have you ever lied (even once)? Ever stolen (anything)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and we've only looked at three of the Ten Commandments. How will you do on Judgment Day? Will you be innocent or guilty? You know that you will be guilty, and end up in Hell. That's not God's will. He provided a way for you to be forgiven. He sent His Son to take your punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death. God promises everlasting life to all those who confess and forsake their sins, and trust in Jesus Christ. Please do that today . . . you may not have tomorrow. See John 14:21 for a wonderful promise. Then read the Bible daily and obey what you read. God will never let you down.Visit NeedGod.com

We know the Earth is flat and stationary we know that space x is a bunch of liars, working with Fallen Angel technology. We live in a geocentric universe fixed and immovable. CGI an amazing thing.. why don't you look up why all the pictures from NASA are photoshopped

With some EMUs and a wider hatch, together with a one time use mini-Canadarm on the trunk exterior it's high time a Hubble servicing call is considered for the Crew Dragon. There is a docking fixture on the Hubble aft bulkhead. Goddard's got work to do! :)
