Doctor and Lawyer React To Grey’s Anatomy Malpractice Episode

Legal Eagle and I went head to head last year to see which was harder, Med School or Law School. We decided to bury the hatchet this time and join our forces to react to the popular medical malpractice episode of Grey’s Anatomy, Season 10 Episode 9 “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word”. I brought my medical knowledge about a surgery gone wrong for a snowboarder who loses his legs above the knee. Devin Stone brought his legal expertise to break down what was accurate and what was fake during the trial of Dr. Callie Torres.

I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

This all occurs because Grey's takes place in a magical crazy hospital with no nurses.

The fact that they both caught "hun" immediately and reacted just proves how professional these men are.

I need to know, do doctors actually have intense personal conversations to push their patients to do the right thing? Like telling a patient to be a better parent or something?

Some of these things are not understood by the doc and lawyer because they didn’t watch the whole show. He didn’t go home with the fever!!!

there was one time my dad tried lifting a freezer and the mussel ligaments broke and turned my dads arm into spongebobs. first reaction from his doctor was "uh-oh" making my dad freak out more than he already was and yell "UH-OH OH?! UH-OH?!?! YOURE NOT SUPPOSE TO SAY UH-OH!!!" the doctor laughed and now its a funny memory. especially since the doctor told him whatever he use to be able to do, he cant now and has to ask people "hay sonny, could you help me with this?"

Super low key! That situation of how the guy got arthritis from one crash obviously was fabricated and there’s more to it in real life. However, for me as a young 12 year old I was playing soccer with kids at a park. I got slide tackled or knocked down somehow and feel pretty hard. That same night I woke up with the most intense pain that I’ve really experienced of it’s kind to date. All of it felt like it was in my hips front back side and around. More specifically it was definitely at and around my joints and bones rather than what a muscle tear or stress usually feels like. The pain didn’t go away that night and in fact just sorta persisted causing every action that involved movement to be excruciating for years day in day out with variations in pain.I wasn’t diagnosed with any form or thought of arthritis until later in my sophomore year so about 16. After that I went on a medication that’s treated my pain and aches wonderfully.Main thing is it’s always bothered me how suddenly the onset of the type of pain this was. You always imagine arthritis as a slow burn that builds as it gets worse. It is a slow burn that builds as your joints get tight from lack of use among other things. It’s possible I suppose I had damage that wasn’t noticed, maybe I got hit hard than I thought, maybe I already had arthritis even then and an injury just sparked it. Again always seemed incredibly odd to me how quickly and how intense my pain came on. Especially since the initially impact when I was playing soccer as a kid didn’t really leave me in pain or feeling like I’d been injured.

When I had surgery in 2016 for a VNS implant, the neurosurgeon and hospital staff were on me like a hawk. I couldn't cough or sneeze without two or three people popping in with a "Are you feeling okay? Do you need something?" while checking my vitals, incisions and ROM. I couldn't go home until I ate, passed gas, urinate, walk, no fever and could take my medication without vomiting. Couldn't imagine them sending me home while I had a fever and whatnot. Love this collab, it's really helpful. Nice learning new things.

What I'm missing here is... Why was there no "bewoop!" At the end of the video? ;) But more seriously - great colab! Hope to see more like this :D

Hey doctor mike, can you react to a “Fit to Fat to Fit” episode? Watched your video on living life at 800lbs and got me interested to hear your medical perspective of the trainers gaining and losing weight rapidly and the possible health complications. If you do choose to some of the better episodes (imo) are s1e1 and s1e9 and you can find them right on youtube.
